The game play of LittleBigPlanet is the unique selling point of this game, bringing side scrolling games to a level never before seen in the gaming world. See the controls here.

[edit] Storyline

At the beginning of the game, you are in the Introduction Level, narrated by Stephen Fry to explain how to play LittleBigPlanet and show The Credits. You then get the chance of going through different stages. The first stage is set in The Gardens with Creator Curator The King. In these Levels, The King will explain the basics of LittleBigPlanet. After this, you battle through 6 levels, including The Metropolis and The Canyons to find yourself at The Wilderness. All the Creator Curators at this point have been kidnapped by the infamous Collector. You have to free all of the Curators in the level The Collector's Lair and in the end, you have to battle him in his evil machine. You find out he is actually small and only wanted friends. Awww.

The LittleBigPlanet experience starts with players learning about their character’s powers to interact physically with the environment. There are obstacles to explore, bits and pieces to collect and puzzles to solve. As players begin to explore, their creative skills will grow and they will be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings – the first step to sharing them with the whole community.

Many parts of LittleBigPlanet will not be passable unless you have a friend alongside you. Many puzzles will need dedicated teamwork and sharp minds to overcome them. You can either plug in a second controller and do collaborative teamwork to overcome the greatest obstacles.

Players will have the chance to create levels within their LittleBigPlanet game and eiter play on them on their own console or, when it’s ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch – or can go and explore everybody else's.

The Customize Mode of this game is also a big selling point in LittleBigPlanet. See here for more info on customizing.

[edit] Sackboy/Sackgirl

You are able to customize how your sackboy or sackgirl looks with anything from trousers to hats. Make them look anyway you choose. Also, if you pre-ordered the game, you get a unique 'Kraktos Sackboy' only available through this way. Pre-orders from the UK-based Play.Com recieved a 'Nariko' Sackgirl costume with the game.

The levels can also be customized to however you want them to look, be it as plain or as complicated as you want. The only limits are the limits of your imagination. When you have made a level, you can choose to play on it yourself or upload it so others may pit themselves against your levels. Level creation help and information can be found here.

[edit] Visit new worlds!

You can take your sackboy/girl on an adventure through one of many different worlds in story mode. You can also visit custom worlds that you have created yourself, or connect to the internet and browse those made by others.
